Capturing Merdeka contest

What is it that makes Malaysia the land for us, the land we call home? What sets us apart from others in the world? Why is it unique to you?

Is it the people? Its natural wonders? The beauty of its pluralistic culture, society?

And if you could capture it in a picture, that essence, that very aspect that makes Malaysia what it is as an independent state, what do you imagine it would look like?

Well, we want to know. We're giving you a chance to not only try to "capture" the spirit - the soul - of Malaysia in photo(s) but to be rewarded for your efforts too (not that "capturing" Malaysia isn't a reward in itself).

Yes, it’s a contest. And all you need to do is take a photo, caption it in 20 words of fewer (if only to explain what the picture is), and send it to us.

Photos must be in digital format, either portrait or landscape, and in colour; but must be in adherence to any one of the following five themes:
i) Culture
ii) Arts
iii) People
iv) Structural
v) Natural Beauty

There will be no limit to the quantity of entries. We suggest you read the Rules and Regulations carefully before submitting images.
