FOUR Malaysians, Nik Mohd Harrif Nik Azlan, Loh Eu-Soong, Mohd Razif Nasruddin and Mohd Izzat Nasruddin, won Nike products worth RM1,500 each and will represent the country in the Nike Freestyle Face-off in Singapore on Nov 15.

The four were winners of Nike Freestyle Face-off held at Sunway Pyramid last Friday.

The face-off featured footballers and basketball players who amazed the crowd with their awesome tricks and funky routines using their body parts including their head, shoulders, back, hands and legs.

The event, which was organised by Nike Malaysia, saw more than 200 participants showing-off their skills to about 2,000 spectators in the shopping complex.

Two weeks before event started, “Nike Freestylers” went to colleges and shopping malls throughout the Klang Valley to promote the event.

Participants were selected based on video footage of themselves doing their best football or basketball moves. Selected videos were shown online at
www.nikefreestyle.com.my
and visitors to the site voted on the the best moves. The two weekly winners from the online poll received RM500 worth of Nike products each week.

Nike Malaysia marketing manager Sharon Ong said: “We received an overwhelming response for the Nike Freestyle face-off and it also attracted many spectators.

“The winners were decided on different types of tricks and moves that they made.

“This is the first time the event was held in Malaysia and we are looking to make it an annual event.”

Besides the face-off, there were more than 200 participants for the three-on-three basketball competition and some 280 footballers took part in the football shoot-out competition.
